Michael Ackerman, a Seattle Realtor with Coldwell Banker Bain, blogs about how clean you should leave your house when transferring ownership to a new buyer. The term “clean” can mean wildly different things to different people. In Washington State, our purchase and sale ageement stipulates that the home be “broom clean” – sweeping, dusting, etc. Michael always suggests that the home be thoroughly cleaned either by the owners themselves, or by a professional cleaning crew. It is a nice gesture to present a really clean home to a new buyer!
